ECC Colts Update

09 Mar 2019

Hello everyone, Jon Last your chairman here,

Time is racing on and we are getting closer to the playing season at a very quick rate, I hope your training is progressing well!!

Today I would like to give you an update on how the colts are progressing as provided by our dedicated Head of Colts, the legend, Dave Howorth:

Dear Colts & Parents,

We are now half way through winter/indoor training with outdoor training/matches only 7/8 weeks away. Therefore a good time to provide an update on Eversley Colts and the 2019 season ahead.

Membership Renewal :

We have roughly the same number of Colts members at this point in time as with last year. As with last and previous years there are c. 70% doing indoor training. Last year we were full at most age groups and we are already full with the U9s. Therefore if you are planning to re-join in 2019 please send in your membership forms asap as we are and will be accepting new members and may well become full.

Teams and Fixtures :

We will have 13 teams in the North Hampshire Leagues from U9s to U15s and both U11 and U13 Girls teams. The fixtures will be sorted in March - 130+ of them).

Kit :

Our policy is that our Colts should wear either Eversley colours or plain cricket clothing. Whilst playing for Eversley we don’t expect to see County, School or other club colours being worn. Eversley branded clothing (& other kit) can be purchased on line through the link to our supplier on the ECC website. We don’t want the cost of kit to be prohibitive and if this is an issue please speak to myself or your Coach as there may be solutions to this.

To ensure that new kit is available for the start of the season please order now/soonest.

If you have any queries in terms of equipment (bats, pads, helmets….) please speak to your coach who can advise.

Friday night BBQ :

After more than five years Sam & Mark Kirby are taking a break from running the Friday night BBQ. We are therefore looking for volunteers to take on managing this. The role(s) isn’t to do the BBQ but to manage it – ordering/ensuring we have meat, buns, sauces etc, liaising with the Age Groups Managers to ensure we have parents to do the BBQ each week, cashing up and keeping a record of spend/revenue, setting up/setting down the BBQ.

Clearly we want to continue with the BBQ (can you imagine the hassle you will get from your kids if we don’t!....we’ll lose half of our coaches!) so please consider and if interested please contact me.
