Eversley Cricket Club News story

We’ve got Jonny Bairstow’s shoes!

04 Oct 2019

Dear ##firstname##,

Our charity auction is now live. We are raising funds jointly to repair the practice nets at the front of the clubhouse and to donate to a charity close to our hearts – the Ruth Strauss Foundation.

  • The Ruth Strauss Foundation as many of you know was set up in Ruth’s memory by her husband Andrew, to provide emotional, psychological and wellbeing support to patients and their families going through a similar experience and to fund research into rare lung cancers. Ruth tragically passed away in 2018. She lived in Eversley with her family who are members of the club.
  • And the nets…we all use the nets, they don’t need an introduction… in training, warming up, throwing a few balls for the kids and they need a bit of an overhaul.

We have a variety of cricket items for auction - including Jonny Bairstow’s shoes from the last Ashes test match, a junior Millichamp & Hall cricket bat from Supersportz  plus other lots such as a trial mini tank experience from Leisure Matters.

We will also have a raffle at the dinner dance with prizes from X Box, Icon sports and R J Ford.

Thank you to our members who have donated prizes…Alan Budge, Rob Margel, Lewis Sharp, Di and Gary Ford and Martin and Sue Perkins. And also our local businesses ….Supersportz, Leisure Matters and Charley Ley personal training.
