Cricket & Nets Update (1st June 2020)

We trust that you are all well in these difficult times.
With yesterday’s government update regarding Recreational Sport we eagerly await any changes to the ECB’s guidelines.
In the meantime, we are pleased that we have been able to offer 70 hours of net practice each week which we believe is far more than most clubs, with some clubs even keeping their nets closed. Last week with it being half term holiday – every session was booked.
Our aim remains to offer as much cricket as we can but in a safe environment & within the ECB guidelines.
In line with this & having had the nets open for 3 weeks we need to ensure that we look after our facilities, our members and can demonstrate that we are in control of the use of our nets. Therefore we need to introduce the following rules :
If you intend to use an external coach (not a member of the Eversley Colts Coaching team or our Club Coach Lewis Sharp) then the coach needs to request permission of the club to use the nets by e-mailing Scott Sharp on firstname.lastname@example.org. Permission will not be unreasonably withheld but it is critical that as a club we know who is using the nets as we are responsible for controlling their use.
As a reminder, use of an external coach has to be outside of the prime slots of 1/ weekday evening 16.00-20.00 2/ weekends. These prime slots represent 40 hours, we have more than 200 members & we want to be fair to all members.
When making your booking please identify your family name & if you are using a coach then please put down the coaches name eg “Howorth – Lewis Sharp”. Again this is because we are required to demonstrate that we are in control of the use of our nets.
Please note that unless you are using an Eversley Coach then you are responsible for your own safety.
As a reminder please do not “block book”, do not book more than 1 week in advance & there is a restriction of one hour per household per week in the prim slots of 16.00-20.00 weekday & at the weekends.
We have had some isolated incidents where a slot has been double booked. The booking system we are using is the one recommended by the ECB. We believe that this has been caused by entering sessions into your personal calendar or the Eversley Account calendar. Please ensure that you enter you booking into the Calendar called Eversley CC Net to prevent any clashes.
