Club Welfare Opportunity

25 May 2022

Good evening everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and that the cricket gods have been kind to you so far this season!

I'm emailing tonight to let you know of an exciting opportunity for 1 or 2 people to get involved with the club in a big contributing role, that of Club Welfare Officers.

A Club Welfare Officer looks after a lot of the club's people and procedures from the perspective of safety and best practice. They are vital to the success of the club, especially for its achievement of the all important ECB Clubmark status which we all know allows the colts section to operate, no Clubmark means no colts!

Being aware that this role needs some specialist knowledge and skills there is plenty of training available for free, one such course about safeguarding is coming up at the Ageas Bowl on the 31st of May and we have slots available to us as one of Hampshire's biggest clubs in this half of the county.

If you are passionate about the success of the club, particularly the colts section, then why not consider becoming a key lynchpin in its operation by taking this course and starting the journey to becoming a CWO? The club will support you all the way and can offer reduced membership fees among other benefits as an incentive/thank you.

Drop a note or a call to either myself or Dave Howorth and we can sort you out with all the details. Given the short time frame please do let us know either on or before Friday if this course is of interest.

Thanks again for your time,

P.s. A reminder that the club is recruiting volunteers for a number of roles so if this doesn't suit you but you would still like to get involved then I would be delighted to talk to you about a different opportunity.
