Eversley Cricket Club 2023 AGM

31 Oct 2023

Dear ECC members,

Eversley Cricket Club 2023 AGM

This is to formally notify you that we will be holding our 2023 AGM on Monday 11th December in the clubhouse (the bar will be open). All members are very welcome to attend.
This is your chance to find out what we've been up to and what our plans are, vote on any appropriate changes to the club and elect your club officers, and for you to ask us anything you may wish to know.

Full agenda to follow but this will include a review of the year plus update on the new nets project, finance, and other items of interest to club members.

We will put up a request on SPOND in due course to gauge attendance.

Chair of Eversley Cricket Club

Also, we would like to inform you that the current Chair of Eversley CC, Jon Last, has decided to step down from his position after serving for five years. We would like to thank Jon for his dedication and leadership, especially over the challenging times of covid.  Jon will be continuing to support the club by representing us on the ESA committee and will of course be making himself available for selection.
As a result, we are now looking for a new Chair to lead ECC and represent the interests of all club members.  If you are interested in applying for the role or wish to understand more about what the role of Chair entails, please get in touch with ECC Club Secretary Robert.Margel@Microsoft.com.

A summary of the roles and responsibilities are as follows:

The Chair of ECC is the head of the main committee that oversees the future direction, management, and administration of the club:

  • Responsible for chairing meetings of the club's executive committee (monthly) & AGM.
  • Leading the Committee in setting the future direction of the club.
  • Ensuring that the committee operates effectively and efficiently.
  • Facilitating discussions and decision-making within the committee.
  • Representing the committee to the wider club membership.
  • Ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of the club and approving the annual budget and financial reports.
  • Appointing and supervising the other members of the executive committee and the staff of the club.
  • Resolving any conflicts or disputes that may arise within the club or between the club and other parties.

Interested parties must submit formal application via email to the club secretary robert.margel@hotmail.com no later than 11th November 2023 (1 month prior AGM 11th December 2023)

Sponsorship team

Whilst we have had a successful project raising money for our Nets the Club funds are always under pressure and as such, we are keen to set up a specific ECC Sponsorship Committee. Joe Howorth as Sponsorship Manager will oversee the work, but he needs help for us to ramp up our efforts in this area just a couple of hours here and there each month.

There are 2 area of assistance that Joe is looking for:

1. Lead generation and follow up
2. Administration of the agreements we have e.g. timings, generation of marketing material (posters, Brochures etc) and preparation of Banners.

If you think you can volunteer a couple of hours a month to help Joe, please contact him at joe.howorth.ecc@outlook.com

ECC is run by volunteers, and we are always looking for more volunteers to help over the wide range of activities that help make the club run smoothly.  If you have skills and time in any area from social media to sponsorship, finance to grounds management please let us know, as we are always open to help and assistance.

On behalf of the ECC Main Committee.
