Presentation Day 2023

17 Sep 2023

For those that couldn't make the day, a quick summary....

Colt of the Year Award went to Tanmay Sumanth (U13)

Sally Hartle Spirit of Cricket Award went to Arjun Kulkarni (U9)

Geoff Bundy Award for services to Junior cricket over a number of years went to Tony & Jo Westacott

There was a big thank you to all of the volunteers who made the junior season happen notably the  coaches and those behind the seasons managing the fixtures, membership, grounds and finances. A special thank you went to Anne & Andrew Lemonofides who ran the Friday night Cafe again in 2023 raising in excess of £1200 in the process and to Michelle & Simon Riddy for managing/running the Bar.

Your Age Group Manager/Coaches have the medals and trophies for those that weren't there on the day.

2023 was a very successful year for the Juniors (& Adults) with a membership of just shy of 200, 13 teams competing in the North Hampshire League, 150 matches played, more than 30 Juniors playing representative cricket at Hampshire/Berkshire and a whole bunch of trophies won.

A huge thank you to all of the Juniors who took on the Nets Fund Raising Challenge - the Juniors have raised c. £6000 so far over the summer months. A massive call out to Harry Sims (& his Dad Nick) who raised £2500 by walking the boundary of 50 Berks/Hants cricket grounds and to Archie Blackman (& his Dad Steve) who raised more than £500 through his own crowd funding site.

Assuming we are successful in achieving an ECB Grant we have a c. £13k gap to the money needed for a 3 net system, but enough confidence that we will get there to be in a position to place an order. In the meantime the fund raising continues...

I and the Junior coaching team hope you enjoyed the 2023 season and we look forward to welcoming you back to winter training in January!
